New Teeth in One Day with All-on-4® in Annapolis & Calvert

Fixed-In Beautiful New Teeth in One Day

We can place just four implants in your arch to support a full-arch set of new teeth that are firmly fixed-in and provide close to the same chewing power as real teeth. This is the All-on-4® procedure, a cutting-edge treatment that eliminates the need for bone grafting for most patients, including those who have experienced severe bone loss.

Your new teeth will be completely stable in your mouth, will look and feel natural, and won’t slip or irritate your gums. Due to the advanced technology that makes All-on-4 possible, we can perform all extractions, place all your implants and give you a functional set of replacement teeth—all in the same day.

How All-on-4 Works

All-on-4 diagramIn the All-on-4 procedure, four or more specially designed implants are placed in strategic positions on your dental arch where the available bone is able to provide strong support. This includes placing the rear implants at an angle to take advantage of the dense bone that is in the front of the jaw.

This eliminates the need for bone grafting for most patients – even for those with severe bone loss who were not candidates for implant-supported new teeth in the past. This system works for nearly every patient and has made permanently fixed-in new teeth more affordable, faster and more efficient.

After initial diagnosis and preparation, Dr. Rabanal will perform the entire procedure in a single day. This includes any needed extractions, placing all your implants and providing you with a functional set of temporary replacement teeth to wear while your implants heal. Once healing is completed, your final new teeth will be fixed in.

Advantages of Permanently Fixed-In Teeth

  • denturesinglass2Eating the foods you need is easy – With new teeth that have nearly the same chewing power as natural teeth, you’ll be able to eat the foods you need for proper nutrition, without having to resort to the blender, mash your food up or cut it into tiny pieces.
  • No more painful chewing or sores – Your new fixed-in teeth will not slip, as they are anchored solidly on the implants. Chewing will be comfortable and you won’t get the painful sores on the gums that come from irritation caused by loose dentures.
  • No false upper palate – Your upper arch of fixed-in new teeth won’t have the false palate that inhibits your sense of taste or perception of heat and cold. Eating and drinking will regain its pleasure.
  • Your jawbone will be preserved – Your jawbone needs the pressure from chewing and biting to maintain its volume and density. When teeth are missing, the jaw continuously loses bone, and the pressure placed on the jaw by dentures only accelerates the rate of bone loss. Implant-supported fixed-in new teeth put pressure on the jaw and keep the bone level preserved.

Our All-on-4 Procedure

The All-on-4 procedure requires precise planning and careful execution. Dr. Rabanal will pay close attention to every detail of your treatment to ensure stable, beautiful and long-lasting results.

Detailed diagnostics

Patient getting scan

We will have you get all necessary X-rays in order to plan the treatment using our 3D implant planning software.

Dr. Rabanal begins with a comprehensive oral exam, which includes full digital X-rays. He also has you receive a dental 3D CT scan from a professional scanning service. The scanner creates crisp 3D 360-degree views of your teeth, jawbone and surrounding anatomy. He uses these images to determine where the bone levels are best for placing your implants.

Computer-aided treatment planning

Dr. Rabanal uploads the 3D CT scanner images into special implant planning software and maps out the exact position and angle of insertion for each implant. He simultaneously plans any needed bone grafting.

Surgical Guide

A surgical guide is used to ensure accurate placement of each implant.

He uses these images to create a surgical guide. A surgical guide is a template that fits over the dental arch and marks the exact placement angles and positions for the implants, as mapped out in the software. Dr. Rabanal will use this guide during your procedure to make the implant placement very accurate and efficient.

Implants and new teeth on the same day

On the day of your procedure, Dr. Rabanal will take care of any needed extractions, place all your implants and provide you with a functional and well-fitting set of temporary teeth to wear while your implants heal. Before placing your teeth, he can take platelet-rich plasma extracted from your own blood and apply it to the treated tissues.

The plasma contains growth proteins that accelerate healing and increase the strength and density of new tissue. These proteins also prevent infection, reduce swelling and inflammation, and minimize post-treatment discomfort.

Crafting Your Replacement Teeth

Your final set of teeth are made from a strong, lifelike porcelain or a biocompatible and natural-looking acrylic.

We will fabricate your final set of teeth from strong, lifelike porcelain or a biocompatible and natural-looking acrylic. You have the option of having a biocompatibility test to make sure any of the possible materials used for your new teeth do not create an allergic reaction or sensitivity in your body. It’s a simple test, and it tells us what materials are best for you. We highly recommend you have this test done as part of your overall treatment plan.

Your Beautiful New Teeth

Once your implants have healed, Dr. Rabanal will permanently attach your final new teeth. Your new teeth will look very lifelike and aesthetic, will feel very comfortable and will have nearly the same chewing power as natural teeth. Eating the foods you need and want will be easy, and you will be able to speak and smile with renewed confidence!
